March 3, 2007 Mixer Party
Fly Me to the Moon!!
There was a lot of "flighty" fun at the Nagoya-Life International Mixer Party at Shooters on Saturday, March 3rd. Over 100 guests, both new and old, joined the party and had a great time! The theme for the party was green to honor the upcoming St. Paddy's Day holiday and many in the crowd took part by wearing something green. Our lucky pre-party winner was Maki Inukai, having won the free admission with her online reservation.
If you think making paper airplanes is only for kids, well, not when you come to a Nagoya-Life party. Striving to keep the Mixer Activities fun and original, this party had each team constructing two paper airplanes. Then all of the teams took turns throwing their airplanes down the middle of the bar. The 6 planes that went the furthest qualified for the final and after the smoke cleared from all the crash and burning, the winning team was the Pirates with their airplane going almost ¾ the distance of the bar! Each member of the team was then given a 1,500 gift certificate courtesy of Nagoya-Life and Shooters.
Our friends from BEST Australia, Dion and Darran, decked out in green were on hand to give out a 10,000 Gift Certificate to lucky winner Tomomi Kaneko and our grand prize winner of the Apple iPod Shuffle was first time guest Grant Baker.
As always, the food and drink supplied by Shooters was great and the staff was serving with a smile. Nagoya-Life thanks everyone who came out to the party and asks that if you had fun, please tell your friends. Through your help we can make each party a fun and enjoyable night for everyone! Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!
Next month on Saturday, April 14th we are having what is sure to be the party of the year so far when we welcome Nagoya rockers, The Sushi Cabaret Club to our party. Nagoya's best foreigner band will perform live in advance of their 4th CD Release Party to be held at Diamond Hall on June 2nd. We will be giving out tickets to their Release Party and they will have CD's and merchandise for sale. For more information on the band, please visit www.sushicabaretclub.com.
Coming up on May 20th is the 16th Annual ACCJ-NIS Walkathon and International Charity Festival at Meijo Park. Nagoya-Life is supporting this event, which is the largest foreigner charity event in Nagoya. It is a day full of live music, food, drinks and great prizes all in an effort to raise money for Nagoya charities. Last year over 6,000,000 was raised for charity and over 1500 people attended. Tickets are only 2,000 and include a T-Shirt and entry into draws for some great prizes. If you would like a ticket, please request one with your reservation to our next party and you will be able to pick it when you come in. It is for a good cause and we hope that you will help to make this year's event the best one in its 16 year history. For more information, you can visit www.nagoyawalkathon.com.
