April 14, 2007 Mixer Party
Spring Fun with The Sushi Cabaret Club!!
The Sushi Cabaret Club returned to the Nagoya-Life International Mixer Party for the third time on Saturday, April 14th and rocked the party and guests in a sneak preview of their upcoming 4th CD Release Party at Diamond Hall on Saturday, June 2nd. Over 160 faithful guests enjoyed this special party as the band ripped through 40 minutes of rockin' music that included old favorites and songs off their upcoming new CD Girl, now available at Tower Records. The atmosphere was electric at Shooters Sports Bar and Grill in Fushimi and the bar was jammed with people who had a great time drinking, dancing and mixing with others at the party.
There were many first timers at the party and lots of regulars who mixed and enjoyed the great spread of food and all they could drink. This was a special party as well in that several event organizers dropped by to promote their upcoming events in Nagoya. They included the organizers of Springfest, Fever, Death and the Maiden and the ACCJ/NIS Walkathon. Nagoya-Life would like to thank these organizers for sharing their event information with our guests and for their support of our party. The party's main attraction though was Nagoya's own Sushi Cabaret Club and their performance confirmed why they are widely considered to be one of the best "foreigner" bands in all of Japan. We would like to thank the band for their support and for making the party a wild success. We encourage everyone in attendance and all friends of Nagoya-Life to catch the bands 4th CD Release Live event at Diamond Hall on Saturday, June 2nd. The venue will be great for their planned 2 hour performance that will include a full musical accompaniment of singers and musicians.
A wide variety of prizes were also given out as door prizes, including a 10,000 voucher from BEST Australia and 5 Free English lessons from TTM Communication. Our grand prize winner of a new Apple iPod was Aussie Scott McLlennan. Trademark at the parties is the mixer activity and this time the teams of guests were required to "Name that Tune" as Dave Freeman from Sushi played short pieces of five different songs. Our winners, the Kings, correctly identified the five songs as Jump, Smoke on the Water, Let It Be, The Final Countdown and Piano Man. Each member of the winning team received a free ticket to the upcoming ACCJ/NIS Walkathon at Meijo Koen on Sunday, May 20th. For more information on the event, please visit www.nagoyawalkathon.com.
Nagoya-Life thanks everyone who attended the party and invites you to join us at our next party on Saturday, June 9th. We are returning to Fukiage Hall for our special Summer Event International Mixer Party. Event organizers and other organizations in Nagoya will have tables set up at the party to provide our guests with information regarding events and activities happening in and around Nagoya.
