What is a Nagoya-Life International Party?

International Party Friends Party in NagoyaAn International party, or mixer parties, organized and hosted by Nagoya-Life.com, are a monthly event aimed at fostering interaction, communication and goodwill among Japanese and foreign residents in the Nagoya area.
The aim is simply to enjoy great food and drink, meet new friends and have a lot of fun.

Not just another friends party in Nagoya.
Our parties feature a plentiful supply of hot, delicious food, all you can drink from a well-stocked bar, an ice-breaker game that guarantees you will meet people and, of course, fantastic prizes!!

All you can eat and drink, Nagoya. Is the Mixer Party like a dating service or Japanese "konpa"?

Not at all. While members are free to meet potential partners or sweethearts (and some actually do), we do not engage in match-making activities and the parties are definitely NOT intended as a pick-up event.

What happens at a mixer party?

Upon arrival, guests pay the party charge (which includes a buffet and all-you-can-drink) and recieve a nametag, door-prize ticket, and a team voucher to be used for the featured game.

For the first hour guests mingle, have a few drinks and partake in the buffet which is available soon after arrival.

Once guests have settled in and filled up on delicious grub, we organize the featured game. The game is usually fairly simple and is team-oriented pitting team against team in a friendly competition. Games have included charades, draw poker, musical chairs, darts and much, much more.

The winning team receives a prize, often consisting of food and drink vouchers from local restaurants.

At the end of the nite we hold a raffle for door prizes.

Throughout the night, music is played and sometimes a local band is featured.

Who attends the Mixer Parties?

We get a good mix of ladies and gentlemen of ages varying from early twenties to late forties. We also experience a good mix of Japanese, as well as foreign guests from a variety of countries. You will find it a truly International Party!

Do I need to speak Japanese? ...English?

No. Many of our foreign guests speak Japanese and many of our Japanese guests speak English, so whether you speak a second language or not, you're sure to find someone interesting to talk with.

Announcements and instructions are given in both English and Japanese.
